Murphy Leo Thomas Faribault Daily News 19/Nov/1968 Funeral services for Leo T. Murphy, 51 of route 1, Kilkenny, Shieldsville Township, were held at St. Patrick's Church in Shieldsville with the Rev. John Joyce officiating. Interment was made in St. Patrick's Church Cemetery in Shieldsville. The seventh and eighth graders of St. Canice School, Kilkenny provided the music accompanied by Margaret Oppegard, organist. Pallbearers were George Morris, Joseph Shields, Leo Greer, Roger Madden of Kilkenny and Theodore Hirdler and Daniel Freeman of Faribault. Leo T. Murphy was born on Oct. 5, 1917 to Thomas and Mayme Meyer Murphy in Shieldsville Township, where he resided all his life. Mr. Murphy attended rural schools and Montgomery Public Schools. On Sept. 24, 1946 he was united in marriage to Lucille Morgan in Faribault and they have since resided in Shieldsville Township. Mr. Murphy was a member of St. Patrick's Parish in Shieldsville and a member of the Town Board (clerk) 1962 to 1968. Mr. Murphy, who passed away at Rice County District One Hospital in Faribault, is survived by his widow, Lucille; three daughters, Mary Lou, student at Viterbo College, LaCrosse, Wis., Becky and Colleen at home; two sons Richard and Tom at home and by other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and relatives attended the funeral from Minneapolis, St. Paul, Waseca, Elysian, Waterville, Lewistown, LaCrosse, Kilkenny, Prior Lake, Montgomery and Owatonna.
