Larry was on his second tour of duty in Vietnam...He was an enlisted man with the Military Police (MP's) his first tour... upon return to the U.S. he entered the Army Warrant Officer Rotary Wing Aviator course (WORWAC class 68-17), after graduation he returned to Vietnam as a helicopter pilot. He was a section leader for the Second Airlift Platoon ( Scarlet Flight ) and later was appointed as the 52nd CAB VIP pilot. He was an excellent pilot. The aircraft ( a UH-1H tail number 67-17316) he was flying that day suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure and crashed near the city of Pleiku.
The crew members were WO1 Larry Glenn Marsh, Aircraft Commander...WO1 Gary Richard Mason, Pilot....Sp5 Gale Stewart Pritchard, Crew Chief.....Sp4 Thomas Eugene Champagne, Gunner
