MRS. H. MITCHELL
DIES AT 37 IN
LOCAL HOSPITAL

Mrs. Hardy C. Mitchell, 37, of 815 North Canal, a resident of Carlsbad for almost 30 years, died last night in a local hospital after an illness of about a week.

She was the former Edna Gunderson, and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Fred Westfall. Born in Gilman, Iowa, she came here in 1922.

She was a member of the First Methodist Church.

Surviving are her husband, Hardy C. Mitchell; two daughters, Mrs. P.R. Stearn and Miss Carol Jean Bennett, both of Carlsbad; a son, Richard Keith Mitchell, also of Carlsbad; two sisters, Mrs. Alford Leeman, Carlsbad and Mrs. Mack Jones, Long Beach, Calif., and a brother, Buster Gunderson, Carlsbad.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev. L.B. Trone and Rev. Joe Emanuel will officiate. Burial will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Henry Page, Lamont Forbes, Dr. Fred Westfall, Harry Harmon, Charley Winn, and George Skinner.
