THE PARIS NEWS, Jan. 12, 2006: "Jackie Sikes, 67, of Paris died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randall Scott officiating. Interment follows in Union Grove Cemetery in Reno. The family receives friends from 6:30 to 8 pm Thursday at the funeral home. He was born Henry Jackson Sikes on Sept. 15, 1938, in Paris, the son of Ed and Dorothy Thomas Sikes. He married Melba Joe Jones on July 25, 1959, in Paris. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He was a retired brick layer and a Baptist. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edgar Sikes and Howard Sikes; and a sister, Dorothy Sikes. Survivors include his wife, Melba, of Paris; two sons, Henry Sikes, and wife, Lori, of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tommy Sikes and wife, Pam, of Quitman; daughter, Dorothy Brown, and husband, Jacky, of Blossom; granddaughters, Jennifer Sikes of Mercedes, Hannah Bailey and Rachel Bailey both of Quitman; grandsons, Tyler Brown of Blossom and Jackson Sikes of Phoenix, Ariz.; sisters, Betty Bohler and husband, Richard, of Mount Vernon, Linda Miller and husband, Floyd, of Hagensport and Shirley Norwood of Paris; a brother, Phillip Sikes and wife, Mary Sue, of Paris; sister-in-law, Sharon Sikes of Paris and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Pallbearers will be Clay Sikes, James Hanley, Howard Sikes Jr., Eddie Sikes, Mark Bohler and Jay Miller."
