On April 27, 1887 he married Louisa Fredmina Rice. They continued to live in Gaylord; until losing the grocery store to a fire in 1888. Returning to St. Peter; Reinold farmed with his father. In September 1897; Reinhold bought a farm in Crate Twp, located five miles northwest of Clara City; the family has resided their since.
Reinold died at the Montevideo Hospital; Dec 6, 1936. Services were conducted at the residence in crate township, and at Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City, the Rev. Wheeldryer officiating. Reinhold had sustained a fracture of one knee in October while getting into a car, he had been ailing ever since.
Surviving are seven children, William, Lydia (Mrs. John Eklo), Bertha (Mrs. Ole Aarnes), Alice, and Henry all of Clara City, Louis, of Minneapolis, Florence (Mrs Adam Pinkerton), of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one brother, Henry, of St Peter. He was preceded in death by his wife Louisa in July and his parents, a brother, and four sisters.
