She was the daughter of Kone U. & Elizabeth Brouwer. She was baptized at the Bunde Christian Reformed Church. Dorothy attended country school in Rheiderland Township. Dorothy was united in marriage to Harold Aalfs on December 5, 1945, at the Bunde Christian Reformed Church. She was employed at the VSC Store in Clara City for twenty plus years. Her family was a very important part of her life and she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed their lake home, traveling, playing cards, gardening and baking. Dorothy was an active member of the Bethany Reformed Church. She died at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Oral and Edward Brouwer; one sister Grace Bluhm; grand daughter Melanie Gerdes and son-in-law Ken Lanning.
