Mrs. James Wells passed away unexpectedly about 5 o'clock Sunday morning. December 30. She lived for less than 20 minutes after the seizure and was dead when the Doctor arrived. The Well's reside on one of the Pessimire Farms Southwest of St. Marys. Mrs Wells was 59 years old and a lifetime resident of the Kaw Twp. Mary Margaret Elizabeth Lytle before her marriage. She was born in Kaw Twp Sept 18, 1886. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Columbus C. Lytle, the former dieing in 1918 and latter at age 82. Mary Margaret was married to Jim Wells in Topeka in 1908. She was the mother of twelve children, five dieing in infancy, she is survived by her husband and seven children. Mrs. Shelton Cook of St Marys, Lillian and Ermajean of the home, Mrs Leo Kesler of Topeka, Mrs Garnet Hladky of St Marys, Glen and Lloyd Wells of the home. Also surviving are one sister and five brothers, Mrs. Alex Lais, Denver; Will and George Lytle of St Marys; Earl of Denver; and Albert of Santa Fe, NM, Harry of Junction City. Another brother, John died five years ago and same day of the month as his sister died, December 30. The funeral was Wednesday at the Methodist Church, St Marys, at 1:30 PM officiating was the Pastor of the Congregational Church, Reverand William Randles. Pallbearers were George Hammerland, Marion Childs, Howard Ames, John Schlief, Sam Trude of Perry and Frank Weeks, Belvue.
