DeFord, Audrey Ruth Shane, died March 19, 2008 surrounded in love and in prayer by her dear family.

Audrey was born in Sabinal, Texas on May 4, 1923 to Ruth and Ivory Shane. She and her brothers and sisters were soon fixtures in the Austin area. Audrey graduated from Austin High School, and received a Bachelor of Business Administration at the University of Texas in 1945.
Audrey was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and a dear friend to many.

She worked many years for the University of Texas in the Plan II program and touched countless student lives. Audrey was an active member of University Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday school and was a member of Women of the Church. She was a world-wide traveler, active in League of Women Voters, and enjoyed a game of bridge with her buddies. She, and husband Harvey, were a beautiful couple on the dance floor and participated in both the Saturday Nighter's and the Waltz Club dance groups for many years. Her life was full of joyous occasions with her grandchildren - the lights of her life.

Mourning her loss are husband Harvey Edmond DeFord, children and grandchildren.
