JC Hendrix, age 84, died on Veteran's Day 11-11-11. He was born 5-17-1927 in Greenville, SC. JC was a US Army Veteran, stationed in Japan during World War II. Upon his return home to Greenville, he vowed to never leave the country again. He was a graduate of Furman University. JC retired as a sales manager for Piedmont Natural Gas Company where he worked for over 30 years. JC was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Geneva Phillips Hendrix. Mr. Hendrix is survived by his children, Steve Hendrix (Peggy) and Angela Hendrix Harteg (Paul); 3 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. JC enjoyed tennis and racquetball, but loved to play the stock market most of all and used the proceeds to give his children a Furman education & help others in need. He was a devoted husband and gentle man who loved being surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2011 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Funeral Home with a Graveside service to follow at 2:00pm in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
