After a friend was fired, Konh Chung Bounnam and three accomplices robbed the restaurant where he had worked. The plan quickly went awry and three workers were brutally executed. Bounnam and his friends go on the run but he was shot during the robbery and needed medical attention.
The others were caught or turned themselves in, but Bounnam remained free despite his injury. He escaped close calls with the cops in North Carolina and Canada until his need for money drew the FBI's attention. After years of eluding law enforcement he was arrested in 1994 and is serving two consecutive life terms plus 25 years.
