James T. Haralson, son of William Browning Haralson and Temperance Martin Dunklin Haralson, died as result of disease contracted during the Civil War.
On March 28, 1862, James enlisted in Centerville with Company F, 44th Alabama Infantry. He was elected 2nd Lieutenant on May 14, 1862. On June 17, 1862 he was furloughed sick to Selma, Dallas County, Alabama and never returned to his unit, passing away on January 4, 1863.
