Buel H. "Bud" Tabor, 74, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at his residence. A native of Swain County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Clyde and Effie Freeman Tabor. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Clyde Junior Tabor, Cecil Tabor, Carroll Tabor, Newell Tabor; and one sister, Polly Stroud.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Birchfield Tabor; two daughters, Pamela Craig and husband Robert of Cherokee, North Carolina, Patricia Tabor of Bryson City, North Carolina; two sons, Clyde Buel Tabor of Bryson City, North Carolina, James Lee Tabor of Franklin, North carolina; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, J. C. Tabor of Bryson City, North Carolina, and one sister, Hazel Grooms of Asheville, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crisp Funeral Home. Rev. Gary Moore will officiate with burial in Brendle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
