BLOOM -- In East Lynn, Mo., March 03, Peter Bloom, aged 66 years, 2 months and 5 days.
The mortal remains of Mr. Bloom arrived here Saturday evening, accompanied by the bereaved widow and his brother Simon. They were immediately conveyed to the residence of J. J. Bloom in Park, whence the funeral took place, Monday. He was buried in the cemetery of the Evangelical church of which he was a consistent member, and an officer for 38 years. Peter Bloom was a native of Armstrong County, Pa., and came to Michigan in 1848, locating in Park township this county, where he resided till 1871, when he removed to East Lynn, Mo. A widow and 10 children survive him; three other children are dead. The widow will remain here and make her home with her brother-in-law, J. J. Bloom, of Park. The surviving family have the sympathy of this community in their great loss of a loved husband and father, who was a useful citizen and a christian gentleman.
OBITUARY
Peter Bloom was born in Northampton Co., Pa December 25, 1921. Died in the Lord March 3, 1887 in Cass Co., Mo., age 65 yrs, 2 mos, 5 days. sermon was preached by Rev. Wirth, P. E. in Mo. The remains were brought to Centre Park, Michigan by his own request. Rev. Doll prached the sermon in German. Rev. Brown preached in English. He was married to Margaret Ann Shirey in 1840.
They were blessed with 13 children, 42 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. He was converted and joined church in Centre Park, Michigan in 1848 and lived a real Christian life. He helped build 2 churches and done always what he could to promote Christian work. -- Rev. Doll and Rev. C. S. Brown
