James Richard Waldrop, 76, widower of Alexandra McAlister Waldrop, died Oct. 11, 2000.

Born in Greenville, he was a son of the late Norman Agnew and Annie Bishop Waldrop.

Mr. Waldrop retired as a Chief Master Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force after 27 years of service. He was also a World War II veteran, having served in the European Theatre of Operations with the 8th Air Force from 1943 until 1945. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church.

Surviving are two daughters, two sons, two sisters, a brother, and a granddaughter.
