BROWNVILLE BOY DROWNED IN RIVER
Clyde Wayne Farson, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Farson, Brownville, lost his life last Thursday, by drowning in the Missouri river, at Crescent, near Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he was employed by a contracting company doing channel improvement work on the river.

Clyde slipped and fell down a "cat walk" between two barges while he was carrying lumber.

OBITUARY
Clyde Wayne Farson, eldest son of John and Myrtle Farson, wa born February 6, 1925 at Nemaha, and passed away Thursday, August 27, at 10:45 a.m., at the age of 17 years, 6 months and 21 days.

When he was a small child his parents moved to Taft, Calif., where they resided for a time, before going to Brownville to make their home, which they did in 1935.Clyde received most of his education in the Brownville public school, from which he graduated last May, with high honors. He was an exceedingly ambitious young man and enjoyed participating in many high school activities. He was a member of the basketball team, played the cornet in the Brownville band and in a small church orchestra. He was planning to enter upon further educational acquirements this fall by matriculating at the Peru Teachers college, when his youthful ambitions were cut short by the fatal accident. Clyde was a willing and pleasant young man, and widely known for his thoughtfulness of others in their time of trouble and need.

On June 25, 1939 he became a member of the Brownville Methodist church, where he was faithful in his attendance since moving into that community.

He is survived by his parents, four brothers, Melvin, Ernest, Darrell and John Maynard, all at home; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bert Martin, Nebraska City, besides a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon, August 30, in the Brownville Methodist church at 1:30 with Rev. A. R. Rogers of Stella in charge. Interment was made in the Nemaha cemetery.
