Roy L. Curtis, 81, of Macomb Dies
Roy L. Curtis, 81, of 116 N. Ward St., died at 11:42 p.m. Monday at McDonough District Hospital. He had been a patient since March 13.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Clugston Funeral Home. The Rev. Norvin C. Blake will officiate, and burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
He was born July 23, 1887 at Chillicothe, Mo., to Robert and Felicia Ellen Fike Cutris, and was a McDonough County resident most of his life. From 1938 to 1943 he lived in the Doddsville community, prior to moving to Macomb. He farmed most of his life and from 1942 to 1952 also was employed at the Illlinois Electric Porcelain plant.
He was a former member of the East Bethel Methodist Church.
On Jan. 31, 1912 he married Caroline Barrett, who died Jan. 28, 1968.
Surviving are two children, Marion Curtis and Mrs. Robert ( Marjory ) Alexander, both of Macomb, three grandchildren, one great grandchild and one sister, Mrs. Jennie B. Coon of Alexandria, Mo. Five brothers, Frank, Charles, John, James and an infant brother are deceased.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation with the family will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
