Stanley Paul Gunia, 85, Rosebud, Coalport RD, died Dec. 21, 2000, at the Capital Health System Helene Fuld Medical Center, Trenton, N.J. Born May 1, 1915, in Gallitzin, son of the late Paul and Florence (Warhol) Gunia. Preceded in death by wife, the former Helen Catherine "Kay" Crook on Oct. 6, 1985; and brothers: Andrew, Anthony and Jacob. He was the last member of his immediate family. Survived by these children: Zea Kay Beers, Kittanning; Jackie Guy, Cranford, N.J. with whom he resided; and Paul of Tyrone RD 4; and four grandchildren. Worked as a mechanic for Boeing Aircraft, Buffalo, N.Y., for 25 years and retired in 1977. Also worked for Leyo's IGA, Coalport, for a number of years. Enjoyed baseball and working around the house. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 28, at St. Basil Catholic Church, Coalport, with the Rev. Alex Amico as celebrant. Committal St. Basil Cemetery, Coalport RD. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 27, at the Gibbons Funeral Home, Coalport, where rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
