The funeral service for Alex Mostek is scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday at Vassar-Rawls Fune ral Home at Lewiston. The Rev. William Crawley of St. James Catholic Church at Lewiston will officiate.
Mostek, a retired auto mechanic, died of congestive heart failure Tuesday at his Lewiston home. He was 74.
The son of Stanislaus Charles and Sophia Pier Mostek, he was born July 29, 1916, at Spalding, Neb.
After graduating from high school in Nebraska, he moved to northern Idaho, where he was employed in the lumber industry.
He married Dolly Bloom on Feb. 21, 1948, at Sandpoint. They were later divorced.
He worked as head sawyer at the Sterling Hanel Mill at Hood River, Ore.
After the family moved to Lewiston in 1954, Mostek went to work as an auto mechanic for Cecil Runyon.
Since his retirement, he enjoyed woodcrafting and had given many creations to family and friends.
Survivors include three daughters, Jean Jorgenson of Lewiston, Judy Temple of Oregon City, Ore., and Pat Meshishnek of Tualatin, Ore.; three sisters, Doris Evans of Dover, Idaho, Vera Rheindschmidt of Richland, and Helen Aguano of Newark, N.J.; a brother, Dean Mostek of Sandpoint, and eight grandchildren.
Five brothers died previously.
The family suggests memorials be made to St. Stanislaus School, 641 Fifth Ave., Lewiston, Idaho 83501.
