Sister Regina Dickman
CONCORDIA — Sister Regina Marie Dickman, 87, Concordia, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 1995, at St. Mary's Convent, Concordia. Sister Regina Marie was born Josephine Dickman on Feb. 28, 1908, at Angelus. She was received into the Congregation of St. Joseph of Concordia on March 19, 1924, and made permanent vows in 1929. She was a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph for 71 years. She taught at elementary and high schools in Manhattan, and was an instructor in the Marymount College Home Economics Department for 29 years. She also served as Marymount's administrative dietician for 17 years. She was a private tutor at Kennedy and Gleniffer elementary schools in Salina, retiring in 1972 to Medaille Center, Salina. In 1984, she retired to St. Mary's Convent.
Survivors include three sisters, Walburga Albers of Oakley, Regina Rietcheck of Grinnell and Sister Mary Martha Dickman of Salina; and four brothers, Robert Dickman of Grinnell, Edmund Dickman of Menlo, Gilbert Dickman of Lakewood, Colo., and Aloysius Dickman of Oakley. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Motherhouse Chapel, Concordia, Monsignor Alfred Wasinger officiating. Sister Emanuela O'Malley will deliver the eulogy. Burial will be in Nazareth Convent Cemetery. A Scripture wake will be at 7 p.m. today at the chapel. Memorials may be made to Sisters of St. Joseph Retirement Fund. Chaput-Buoy Funeral Home, 325 W. Sixth St., Concordia 66901, is handling arrangements.
