PHILIP JAMES MASON
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Aurora ward chapel for Philip James Mason, 76, who died august 19 at his home in Aurora.
Conrad C. Payne of the Aurora ward bishopric conducted the services. Speakers were J. Lerue Ogden of Richfield, Edwin Sorensen and Patriarch C. M. of Redmond. Conrad Payne gave sentiments of appreciation. The invocation was by Ray Mason; the benediction by Wm. G. Mason. Philip Mason dedicated the grave. Interment was in the Aurora cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rex and Guy Huntsman, Lavon and Philo Madsen, Odell and Doyle Mason, grandsons. Flowers were carried by granddaughters.
Mr. Mason was born August 3, 1862, at Springville, a son of George and Mary Ann Beard Mason. In 1886 he married Mary A. Harward who preceded him in death four years. Mr. Mason had made his home at Aurora thirty years.
Surviving are four daughters and five sons, Mrs. Retta Huntsman, Mrs. May Madsen, Mrs. Bessie Curtis of Aurora, Mrs. Flora Higgs of Arimo, Idaho, Vivian Mason of Provo, Ralph Raymond, Mark and Glen Mason of Aurora. Other survivors are a sister and brother, Mrs. Rhoda Harris of California and Fred Mason of Springville; 54 grandchildren and 19 great
grandchildren.
