Lizzie Bell Padgett

ELDON -- Lizzie Ball Padgett, 82, died at 6:15 a.m. today at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elza Crow, in Eldon. She had been in poor health for several years.

She was born Aug. 18, 1877, in Davis county, the daughter of William and Emily Nupp Jones, and had spent her life in the Eldon community. She was married in 1892 to Sherman Snook, who died in 1916. She was later married to William Padgett, who also preceded her in death.

Surviving are eight daughters, Mrs. Edna Bunner, Mrs. Audrey Boatwick and Mrs. Crow of Eldon, Mrs. Virginia Baayen of Ottumwa, Mrs. Lola Brown of Selma, Mrs. Pauline Corder of Phoenix, Ariz. and Mrs. June Morrow of Belknap; and two son, Wilbur Snook of Fairfield and Marvin Snook of Ottumwa. There are 53 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell chapel in Eldon. The Rev. Clinton Spillman of the Assembly of God will officiate. Burial will be in Bethlehem cemetery.
