Mr. Thomas Blades of E. died Thursday morning at his residence on Cherry Street, aged 85. The cause of his demise was general debility. Mr. Blades had been a retired merchant for many years.

He was one of the oldest citizens of the town. Mr. Blades was twice married, his first wife having been Miss Fatima Marshall; his second, who survives him, is a sister to Mr. Thomas Kirby - Miss Susan Kirby.

The following children also survive the deceased: Miss Elizabeth Blades, Mrs. John R. Kirby, Mrs. S. E. Marshall and Mr. Thomas H. Blades, all of St. Michaels. Mr. Blades was a member of the local order of Odd Fellows.
