Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 27 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Don Salberg officiating.
Henry Boyken was born to Henrich Boyken and Louise Plaisier Boyken on November 4, 1901 at Wellsburg, Iowa. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Wellsburg in 1902. At the age of 2, he moved with his parents to a farm near Woden, and lived in this vicinity all his life. He attended the Grant Township School. In 1918 he was received into Communicant membership of Immanuel Lutheran Church, remaining a faithful member all his life. He served as one of the members of the building committee.
On Jun 1, 1930 he was united in marriage to Schwantje Loeschen and to this union four children were born.
Mr. Boyken passed away on March 24, 1965 after a long illness at the age of 63 years, 4 months and 20 days. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife; three sons, Roger of Britt, Duane and Dean of Woden; and one daughter, Mrs. Virgil (Louise) Heifner of Buffalo Center; and seven grandchildren. He is also survived by five brothers, Eilert ant John of Titonka, George of Woden, Fred of Albert Lea, and Dick of Armstrong; one sister, Helen of Titonka; many nephews and nieces and a host of friends.
