Funeral services for George E. Boyken, 65, were held Saturday, December 21 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Roger Hanson officiating.
Mr. Boyken died Wednesday, December 18 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Mason City as the result of an automobile accident five miles east of Titonka on Sunday, December 1. Also killed in the two-car head-on collision were his wife, Sena, 65, and Mrs. Henry Beenken, 54, of rural Britt.
Interment was in the church cemetery with Elmer Engelbarts, Wilfred Schmidt, Melvin Buss, Alvin Holtorf, Louis Huber and Henry Stohr serving as casket attendants.
George E. Boyken was born April 30, 1903 at Wellsburg, a son of John and Louise Plaisier Boyken. On February 24, 1927 he married Sena C. Ostermann at the Immanuel Lutheran Church. They retired from farming in 1968 and moved to Titonka.
His is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Donald (Donna) Hines of Manly; two granddaughters; one sister, Helen Boyken of Titonka; and four brothers, Dick Boyken of Armstrong, Eilert Boyken and John Boyken of Titonka, and Fred Boyken of Alden, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two sisters and three brothers.
