Additions/Corrections are based on the "Washington State Death Records" (Washington State Archives - Digital Archives - http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/Record/View/4F97599D91868B579C58BF27CAF72668).
There had been another obit already published one day earlier (Feb.26, 1923) in the Bellingham Herald, which also mentioned that Tunis R. Kershaw had passed the previous day (= Feb.25, 1923) on "the eve of his birthday".
The exact birthday comes from an entry in "A History of the Puget Sound Country" by Col. William F. Prosser. Lewis Publishing 1903, pages 315-317. Although they obviously got the year of his birth wrong, saying that he was born in "1853". They also gave a different birth location, stating that "he is a native of Genesee County, New York."
