Military funeral services for Simmons Harward, a veteran of the World War who died Friday, were held Monday afternoon in the Aurora ward chapel.
Bishop Leland Lazenby presided at the services. Speakers were Edwin Sorenson, S. Ross Hunt of Salina, and W.Q. Tidwell of Richfield, commander of the Jensen-Colby post, American Legion. The choir sang "Sometime We"ll Understand", A. C. Prows of Salina sang "O My Father", for which Donna Prows and Darlene Rasmussen played the piano and violin accompaniment. The invocation was by Levi Sorenson; the benediction by Len Humphrey. Angus Humphrey dedicated the grave, interment being in the Aurora cemetery Harward was born at Aurora on December 24, 1896, a son of William and Elizabeth Clements Harward. After serving in the World War he married Agnes Curfew in the Manti temple December 7, 1921. He is survived by his widow and four children, Duane, Winona, Eldon and Vera Harward; two sisters and five brothers, Mrs. Ezra Kennedy, Mrs. Riley, Frank, Delbert and Amasa Harward of Provo and Rulon Harward of Salina.
Among those who came to Aurora for the funeral, besides the immediate family, were Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Harward, Mr. and Mrs. Afton Harward, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. D. Mason, Mrs. Eva Harward, Orson Harward, Mrs. Chas. Thorsen, Mrs. Sidney Humphreys, Mrs. Marie Richards and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Suitor, all of Provo.
