DOWS--Russell B. DeLano, 69, died Monday at a Mason City hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday a Dows United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at Clarion with Willim Funeral Home in charge.

Born June 3, 1900, near Clarion, he was the son of Milton and Alice Bowe DeLano. He was married to Elsie M. Lord Nov. 8, at Marshalltown. He was owner of the DeLano implement Company in Dows, was fire chief here many years, had served as a councilman and vice president of the Dows Community Club.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Ardith) Christiansen, Latimer; a son, Russell B., Biloxi, Miss.; his father of Clarion; a brother, Victor, Galt; three sisters, Mrs. Lloyd (Hazel) Mayes, Clarion; Mrs. Genevieve Cooke, Forest City; 11 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1966, his mother, a son, a grandson and two brothers.
