Margaret Jane Grubaugh was born in 1847 to Michael Grubaugh and Mary Ann McFall. Her father died in 1862 as a result of an illness while serving in the Civil War. Her mother raised Margaret and her seven siblings by herself. Margaret had a child, Henrietta, born out of wedlock in 1866 after a liaison with Eugene Alward. She married John Webb in 1872, but that marriage was short-lived. She married Gilman Heath in 1875 and they celebrated 40 years of marriage together before he died in 1915. Margaret and Gilman had 7 children together. Gilman had been married earlier to Olive ?? and they had 8 children together before Olive died in 1871, so Margaret had a huge family to watch over. Margaret spent most of her live in Knox County, IL where she died in 1931.
