Paul M. Warden, 66, died yesterday at 6 p.m. at his home, 1308 22nd Street, South Norfolk, after a short illness.
He was a native of Norfolk County and had lived in this area most of his life. He was a son of the late James L. and Belle Foreman Warden and the husband of the late Mrs. Caroline Lee Warden.
He was a retired Army engineer and had worked in Norfolk and Richmond. He was past commander of American Legion Post 108 and a veteran of World War I and had served as chief of South Norfolk Police Department from 1920 to 1928.
Mr. Warden is survived by one daughter, Caroline Belle Warden, of South Norfolk, and several nieces and nephews.
The body was removed to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
