Asenath Nutt married George P. Bowen July 12, 1862 at Montpelier, Washington co., Vt. She died at the age of 25 years. She is buried in section 478 of Green Mount Cemetery.

A new church was built in Montpelier, Vermont (it was completed and dedicated on 24 Nov 1874) and Col. Henry Clay Nutt Brother of Fanny and Asenath) donated the massive bell at a cost of about $1,500. This donation was made as a memorial gift in the name of his two deceased sisters. The inscription on the bell reads: In Memory of My Sisters, Fanny and Asenath, by H. C. Nutt, Trinity M. E. Church, Montpelier, Vt. 1872. [SOURCE: VT Historical Gazetteer, Vol. 4, Pub. 1882, pg. 380]
