Pioneer Woman Called By Death

The columns of the Daily Citizen have mentioned of late the serious illness of Mrs. N. J. Morlan and after a lingering illness she died at her late residence in Independence township at 2 o'clock Thursday morning from that dread disease Cancer. Mrs. Morlan was aged 70 years. She was born in Indiana and married at the age of 18 years, and to this union were born eleven children, seven of whom are left to mourn the loss of a devoted mother. Caroline, wife of Sam'l Stevens, Nevada, T. L. and L. L.living in Indianola; Myrtle, wife of J. I. Free, Jessie, wife ofWill Elam and Steve, Dora died several ears ago and Louise when a small child and two who died in infancy. All the children were with their mother to the end.

Mrs. Morlan was a long time member of the Baptist church and Sandy Bluferd Jones, pastor of the Baptist church, of which she was a member conducted the services at the Jones Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. Friday August 8th.
