Mr. John Hillebrandt, an old time resident of this city, late a workman at Hoffman's shops, a wagon maker by trade, died at the St. Francis hospital, Saturday p.m. of pneumonia.
The deceased was the father of Tony Hillebrandt now a resident of Ainsley and of Frank Hillebrandt, a resident of California, the only direct relatives left to mourn his loss.
The deceased was born in Padeborn, Westphalen, Germany, and came to this country early in the fifties. He first resided at Baltimore, Md., then moved to Illinois and about eighteen or nineteen years ago came to Grand Island. He had amassed quite a little fortune in farms and other property but had a series of misfortunes. He was regarded as a fine old gentleman by all who knew him. The funeral took place at 1 o'clock this afternoon.
