Vernie Helen Johnvin, 89, Green Bay, died peacefully at her home on May 23, 2012, with family by her side. Born on October 1, 1922, in Alamo, North Dakota, she is the daughter of the late Charles and Pearl (Davis) Bilquist. On February 2, 1946, she married Lyle Jesse Johnvin at St. Philip the Apostle Church, and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1975. Vernie worked as a waitress at Kroll's, and in the shoe department at JC Penny for the majority of her working years. She later worked at Americana Nursing Home, until her retirement. Vernie enjoyed sewing, gardening, shopping, drinking coffee, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was also a member at St. Philip the Apostle Church.

Vernie is survived by five children, Jesse Johnvin, Lakewood, Mary (Robert) Forseth, Louisville, KY, Sue Johnvin, Green Bay, Patti (Jim) Wisneski, Mountain, and Jerry Johnvin, Green Bay; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Angie, Adam, Sara, Amy, Kristy, and Jon; 13 great grandchildren; one sister, Marie Blahnik; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Jon Johnvin; parents; three brothers and one sister-in-law, Chester (Marie), Walter, and Carl Bilquist; two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruth (Edward) Demerath, and Arlene (Bill) Herlache; and one brother-in-law, Royal Blahnik.

Visitation at MALCORE (West) Funeral Home, 1530 West Mason Street, Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. Funeral 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with Sr. Helen Keyzer officiating. Burial in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
