Inez Barnes Sand passed away peacefully into God's presence, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday evening August 29, 2006. By virtue of her epic kindness, gentleness and grace, Inez's life will be honored and respected by all. She chose to live quietly, gently, and at times stubbornly.

Inez was born March 4, 1929 in Lewiston, Idaho but lived most of her life in Coeur d' Alene, raising her children and working at French's Cleaners with her beloved husband Paul and many family members. While she enjoyed gardening and even collecting angels or wind chimes, her greatest passion was always her involvement in the lives of her family and her extraordinary work ethic. She could be depended upon to find every lost garment, and work, even if you tried to give her a day off, and she was always the ultimate peacemaker.

Inez will be remembered and missed most for her love of wrestling with “her boys” and cherishing every day that she worked with them at the Cleaners. Inez looked forward to her weekly Sunday shopping and fellowship with her “beloved Barbie”, her only surviving daughter and frequent companion. Inez was a generous and loving mother-in-law and grandmother remaining a constant source of encouragement and support in every situation.

She is survived by her sons, Don Sand of Mesquite, NV, Skip Sand of Post Falls, ID, Ken Sand of Coeur d' Alene, ID, P.J. Sand of Coeur d' Alene, ID, Michael Sand of Coeur d' Alene, ID, Tim Sand of Coeur d' Alene, ID, Nick Sand of Post Falls, ID and Andy Sand of Coeur d' Alene,; her daughter, Barbara Tolley of Coeur d' Alene, ID; 25 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; a daughter, Cathy Farquhar; and 4 brothers.

Visitation will be Friday evening, September 1, 2006 from 5-6 P.M. followed by the Rosary at 6:00 P.M. at St. Pius X Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, September 2, 2006 at St. Pius X Catholic Church with Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d' Alene in care of the arrangements
