POQUOSON - Lola Moore Harrell, 79, died Wednesday, Feb. 13, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Harrell retired from the Base Comptroller Accounting and Finance Division at Langley Air Force Base in 1965 after many years of service.
She was a native and lifelong Poquoson resident. Mrs. Harrell was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church and its Golden Age Club. She was also a member of Charles Parrish Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include a son, Carey E. Harrell of Poquoson; two sisters, Evelyn M. White and Anne M. Lowery of Poquoson; two brothers, Cecil G. Moore of Poquoson and George B. Moore of Pass Christian, Miss.; and two grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday in Claytor-Rollins Funeral Home and at other times at 17 Moore Road.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Emmaus Baptist Church by the Rev. Jack A. Lawson and Dr. Howard Tew. Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park, Newport News.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Poquoson Rescue Squad, 1035 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson 23662; or the American Cancer Society, 618-C J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News 23601.
