Addie Toelle, 95, of Freeport died on Monday, June 13, 2011, at Parkview Home in Freeport.
Born on Feb. 12, 1916, in Brookeville, she was the daughter of Epko and Alice (Lameyer) Dieterman. On Feb. 1, 1946, she and Elmer Toelle were united in marriage in Shannon. He preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1996.
Addie was a telephone operator for four years prior to working at Burgess Battery, where she was employed for over 37 years. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ for over 50 years. She was a volunteer for Contact for several years.
Surviving are two nieces, Carolyn (Harlan) Greenfield of Freeport and Allene (John) Harvey of Montgomery, Texas; four nephews, Eldon (Mary) Julius of Freeport, Nelson (Karen) Julius of Freeport, Lyle (Carolyn) Bremmer of Shannon, and Norris (Beth) Bremmer of Freeport; and numerous great-nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; great-nephew; and two sisters, Katie Julius and Luella Bremmer.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, at St. John United Church of Christ in Freeport, with Rev. Carol Ahrens officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until the time of service Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Freeport.
A memorial fund has been established in her name for St. John United Church of Christ. Walker Mortuary is assisting the family.
