Funeral Services for Avis Dennis, age 85 of Livingston will be held at 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston with Rev. Fred Alford officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM in the Houston National Cemetery in Houston. Pallbearers will be James R. Johnson, Larry Hamby, II, Owen Johnson, John Keasler, Dallas Johnson, and Jim Westbrook. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston.

She was born on August 30, 1926 in Redfield, Dakota the daughter of Charles Max Crossland and Anna (Kemble) Crossland and passed away on May 19, 2012 in Livingston. Avis is preceded in death by her parents, Charles Max Crossland and Anna (Kemble) Crossland and by her husband, Marion Edmond Dennis.

Avis is survived by her Sons, James H. Johnson, of Point Blank, Texas and Dean A. Dennis, of Ankeny, Iowa; Daughters, Gayle Westbrook, of Omaha, Nebraska, Pamela Woolbright, of Livingston, Texas, Vera Clemons, of Illinois City, Illinois, and Peggy Smith, of Livingston, Texas; Sister, AnnaBelle Snow of Kentucky; Twenty-one Grandchildren; Thirty-one Great Grandchildren. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
