Teresa Rose Newman passed away on Monday, January 7, 2008 in Albuquerque at the age of 69.
Teresa was a member of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Teresa was also a docent at the Hispanic Cultural Center as well as a member of Toastmasters.
Teresa was preceded in death by her daughter, Marie Atencio, mother, Margaret Mondragón and sister, Nancy Mascarenas.
Teresa is survived by her children, Jeri Sokolosky and her husband, David, Sharon Carrillo and her husband, Morris and Phillip E. Atencio Jr., sisters, Mary A. Lucero and Fanny Lucero, grandchildren, Joe and his wife, Crissy, Kirk, Kirsti, Patty, Julie, Morris and Amy, special friends, Shirley Frankowiak and Flora Gómez and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A Rosary will be recited on Friday evening, January 11, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Atencio, Kirk Sokolosky, Morris Carrillo IV, Benny Lucero, Daniel Frankowiak and Nick Palladino. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Frankowiak, Avery Frankowiak, Michael Williams and Paul Hilleary.
