Hugh B. Flippen is a son of Lafayette Smith Flippen and Emma Stewart Flippen. He was married to Myrtle Lonetta Russell on April 10, 1915 in Faulkner County, Arkansas. Two children were born of this union (a son and daughter). Hugh married Lillian Nelle Turner on September 7, 1927. Four children were born of this union.

EL RENO----Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Wilson funeral chapel for Hugh B. Flippen, 65. Rock Island engineer, who died Thursday unexpectedly. Burial will be at El Reno cemetery.
Born in Maylor, Ark., Flippen came to Yukon in 1951 and El Reno in 1917. He had been with Rock Island for the past 41 years.
Flippen was a member of the fraternal order of Eagles, secretary-treasurer, Isaac Walton league of El Reno, and secretary-treasurer of Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers.
He is survived by his wife, Lillian, of the home; two sons, including Bruce W., El Reno; three daughters; three brothers, including J. B., El Reno; two sisters and three grandchildren.
