Hanson C. Draper, 66,
While sitting on a chair close to the kitchen stove, whetting his axe, preparatory to going out to cut some wood. Hanson C. Draper, of near Garfield, this county who had been in good heath suffered a fatal attack, death resulting before any medical attention could be summoned.

Mr. Draper had eaten a hearty dinner yesterday and had not complained of feeling badly all day. In thee kitchen with him were his wife and a little daughter, his son was hauling wood to a neighbor. While sitting on thee chair by the stove about 2:30 o'clock. Mr. Draper leaned over and uttering a few words summoned his wife to his side. Mrs. Draper seeing that her husband's condition was serious quickly sent the child to neighbors for help. Without being able to speak, Mr. Draper expired a few minutes later in his wife's arms before anyone had arrived.

The cause of his death was not definitely known this morning as a doctor had not examined the body, but it is thought that heart trouble brought the sudden and unexpected end. He was the son of William Draper, who also died suddenly some years ago, his body being found behind the barn.

Mr. Draper was aged 65 years, 3 months and 29 days, and leaves a widow and 13 children, as follows, Mrs. Annie N. Wolfe, of Washington County; Mrs. Lula M. Lewis, Mrs. Ellen Lewis, Mrs. Bessie Kuhn, Mrs. Minnie Bowman, Mr. Martin L., all of Garfield; Mr. Albert C., North Dakota; Della, Virginia, Adeline, Harry, Edgar and John, at home.
