Jonathan Koser served in the Army and received an honorable discharge.
"I do certify that Jonathan Koser served as a private in the Landisburg Guards (Perry County) for seven years from the 1st of Jan 1818 for which I do discharge with honor this 6th day of April 1826. Signed: Allen Herbett, Captain. (The name should be Nesbitt).
Records on file in Room 222, Education Bldg., Harrisburg, Pa. refer only to Officers, it was part of the 1st Battalion, 39th Regiment, 11th Division. This company commanded by Captain Allen Nesbitt.

Married 18 October 1830 near Germantown, Pa. Miss Mary Ann Culbertson.
Jonathan and Mary Ann "Culbertson" Koser were the parents of the following children:

Culbertson 1831 - 1864 died of wounds sustained in Civil War. He left no descendants.

Jonathan, went West to Unity, Williams county, Ohio.

Alexander Koser 20 January 1835 - 22 May 1862,
died from wounds sustained in Civil War. He is buried in Cypress Hill National Cemetery, Long Island. He died a single person leaving no descendents.

David Franklin Koser 24 October 1839 - 12 April 1925, went to West Unity, Ohio

Mary Jane Koser 1840 - , died a single person, no descendents.

George W. Koser 22 July 1843 - 29 May 1924, went west to Unity, Ohio.

Samuel W. Koser 25 June 1845 - 1918, went west to Unity, Ohio.
