"Mrs. A. Pardue Dies Following Extended Illness"
Mrs. Augusta Gassie Pardue, member of a prominent pioneer family of West Baton Rouge and a long-time resident of Baton Rouge, succumbed Tuesday night at her home here following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Emile Gassie and Josephine Labauve of West Baotn Rouge Parish.
Mrs. Pardue was a resident of this city for the past 10 years and resided on Bungalow Lane.
Funeral services will be held at a requiem mass Thursday at the Cathedral of St. Joseph. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
Mrs. Pardue was in the real estate business for a number of years and was one of those who developed two of Baton Rouge's early subdivisions, University Hills and Lake Park Hills, below LSU.
She was a charter member of the Woman's Club of Baton Rouge and a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph.
Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. O.M. Poirier of Port Allen and Mrs. Charles McDonald, Sr., of Baton Rouge; and several nieces and nephews.
