Services for Lena Watson Stamper, 91, of Columbia were 3 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2003 from the First Baptist Church in Columbia with Rev. Don smith officiating. Interment followed in Cross Roads Cemetery west of Grayson.
Mrs. Stamper was born on January 28, 1912 in Crowville to the union of Charles E. and Sarah Childress Watson and died Monday, November 28, 2003 at the Riverview Care Center in Bossier City, where she had reside the last three years.
She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church in Columbia. She was preceded in death by her husband: Andrew Stamper, her infant daughter: Verna Mae Stamper, four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include her sons: Freeman Stamper of San Francisco, CA and Leeman Stamper and his wife: Barbara of Columbia; her daughter: Merlene Garcin and her husband: Huey of Shreveport; her grandchildren: Tommy Garcin and his wife: Denise, Linda Bartlett and her husband: Kevin and Michael Stamper, and her great-grandchildren: Kyle and Kaci Bartlett and Michael and Daniel Garcin. Pallbearers were Kevin Thompson, Kerry Joe Thompson, Trey Roberts, Charles Caraway, Sandy Caraway and Spencer Roberts.
