A funeral service for John B. Rossi, Thornville, will be at noon Monday at the Boring-Sheridan Funeral Home, Thornville, with Pastor Linda Pinson officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at the Glen Rest Cemetery, Reynoldsburg. Mr. Rossi who worked as a sheet metal worker for Blackwoods of Columbus for 10 years, died Oct. 12, 2000, at the Newark Health Care Centre. He was born April 12, 1918, in Columbus to the late Angelo and Josephine Rossi. He is survived by his sister, Philomena Shaw of Columbus; step-granddaughters, Cindy Fields of Thornville and Launa Crego of Colorado; step great-grandchildren, Jason Fields, Matthew Rine, and Stacey Rine; step-son-in-law, Joseph Koczera of Thornville; and special friend Mary Lou Hooper of New Lexington. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lora Mae (NEAL)Rossi, who passed away in 1987; Step-daughter, Jacqueline Koczera; brother Angelo Rossi; sisters Mary Wheeler and Sue Williams; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jacksontown United Methodist church or Hospice, the Chapter of Choice.
