Shirley Mae Bordelon passed away peacefully in her sleep Friday, July 29, 2011, at her home in White Castle after a 4?? year battle with cancer.

Shirley is survived by two daughters, Melanie LeBlanc and husband Ronnie, of Plaquemine, and Catherine Richard and husband Joseph "Joe," of White Castle;

four sons, Gaston Louie Bordelon III and wife Ellen, of Gonzales, Mark and wife Patty, John Wayne and wife Carolyn, and Brian and wife Christie, all of White Castle;

15 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren;

three brothers, John B. "Son" Dawson, Theodore "Teddy" Dawson and Lawrence "Larry" Dawson; and three sisters, Jackie Tomb, Sally Dee Lee and Rosemary Seymour.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gaston Louie Bordelon Jr.; son, Gary Bordelon; parents, John B. and Blanche Dawson, who were of St. Francisville; and brother, John "Tut" Dawson.

Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in White Castle. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in White Castle, with the Rev. Joey Angeles, celebrant. Entombment will follow in White Castle Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be Jason Dufour, R.L. "Bubba" Downs, Shannon LeBlanc, Shaun Bordelon, Duane Bordelon, Christopher Bordelon and Dakota Richard.

Honorary pallbearers are John B. "Son" Dawson, Theodore "Teddy" Dawson and Lawrence "Larry" Dawson.

The family would like to give a special thanks to all the nurses of Comfort Care Hospice and Home Health of Plaquemine.

Special thanks goes to the wonderful care Shirley received from her caregiver, Sucelia Domingue, of White Castle, Catherine and Judy Johnson, of Vidalia. Special thanks also to Darrell and Thelma Landry.
