A graveside inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, May 26, 2012, at the Ord City Cemetery with Pastor Russel Troester officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the Ord VFW Post #7029 and American Legion Post #38.
James Lyle was born March 12, 1931, in Valley County, Nebraska to Edward A. and Emma J. (Vasicek) Adamek. He graduated from Ord High School in 1949.
In 1951, Jim joined the United States Navy. On October 19, 1952, Jim was united in marriage to JoAnne Knadle in Vienna, South Dakota. The couple resided in Key West FL, Ord, Wahoo and Seward, NE, and Boulder, CO. In 1992, the couple retired in Bella Vista, Arkansas.
Jim was a member of the American Legion, Lifetime member of VFW in Seward and former trustee of Bella Lutheran Church. Jim enjoyed a variety of activities including woodworking, fishing, and traveling to see his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, JoAnne of Bella Vista, AR; two sons and daughters-in-law, Craig and Annie and Todd and Jeanette all of Seward; two daughters and son-in-law, Holly Adamek of Louisville, CO and Andra and Jim Downie of Evergreen, CO; 10 grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Leonard Weverka of Ord and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Bradley, grandson Jesse Adamek and two brothers, Lawrence and Leroy Adamek.
