Mrs. Marie Cavender Allison, 92, of Converse, Texas, formerly of Martin, died Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at her residence.
No services were held. Burial was in the family site at Mount Pleasant Cemetery near Pilot Oak, Ky. with Funeral Caring USA Funeral Home in Schertz, Texas in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Allison was born Feb. 18, 1918 near Dukedom, daughter of the late Vernon Guy and Ila Mae Cavender. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Henry C. Allison.
She was a long time employee of the Tennessee State Department of Education, a member of Martin Church of Christ and of Northside Church of Christ in San Antonio, Texas.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Barry L. and Terry Ann Allison of San Antonio; one daughter and son-in-law, Jan Allison and George Ellis of Memphis; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
