The Hartwell Sun, 2 Apr 1943 - Mrs. Mary E. Dooley, 86, esteemed Hart Co. woman & wife of Thos. B. Dooley, died Fri., 16 Mar 1943 at the home in Sardis comm., following an illness of six months.
Surviving besides her aged husband are 6 daus: Miss Katherine Dooley, Mrs. Maggie Phillips, Mrs. T. J. Seawright & Mrs. Hubert Lewis, of Hart Co., Mrs. Claude Adams-Columbus & Mrs. A. E. Snellings-Madison, GA; 2 sons: Messrs. Mitchell N. Dooley-Hart Co. & Griffin Dooley-Madison.
Funeral services were held Sun. at 3 pm from the Sardis Bapt. church.
Mrs. Dooley was the former Miss Mary E. Bailey, a dau. of the late Griffin Bailey & Nancy Champion Bailey, being born in Hart Co. 12 July 1867. She was a devoted member of the Sardis Bapt. church & a woman whose long life had counted for great & lasting good.
Interment was in the Sardis cem., with A. L. Parks, Gibson Skelton, J. C. Norman, L. L. McMullan, Mac L. Richardson & Lester Vascar pallbearers.
