Margaret was a daughter of Judge David Mitchell and Martha 'Mattie' Black. She was born in Kentucky when the family first explored territory beyond Pennsylvania. On 7 Mar 1814, Margaret married James Boal, son of Margaret Boal. They had at least 9 children: David Mitchell, James Fulton, Martha Black, George Mitchell, Margaret Fulton, Elvira Nelson, Martha Eliza, Cornelia Ann and John Aaron Boal. Unfortunately, it seems that Margaret and her husband, James died rather suddenly after relocating to Clinton County, Indiana.
