Virginia "Jennie" Elnora Bledsoe Adams, of Hixson, TN succumbed to a lengthy illness on Monday, May 14, 2012, at the age of 91.
Jennie retired from Signal Knitting Mills in 1983 with over 35 years of service where she was active with union activities.
She never met a stranger and loved everyone. Jennie enjoyed quilting and made all her children, grandchildren, grandchildren and other family members quilts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Minnie Bledsoe; sisters, Blanche, Pauline and Rosalee; brothers, JM Bledsoe, Lawrence Bledsoe, Eugene Bledsoe; husband, Noah Bennett Adams; son, Gary Bennett Adams; and a grandson, Nathan Foeh.
She is survived by her daughter, Alice Foeh; son, James Edward (Peggy) Adams; grandsons, Craig Foeh, Alan Adams; granddaughters, Julianne Stapleton, Corianne Foeh; great-grandchildren, Shelby Adams, Spencer Adams, Logan, Levi and Lucas Stapleton; and sisters, Atha Mae Ritchie and Mildred Price.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home.
Burial will follow in Levi Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Chattanooga Salvation Army or the local food bank.
Arrangements are by Williamson & Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike Soddy-Daisy, TN.
